The online presence of the Borders union drive began in 1996 when a bookseller from the Philadelphia store put up a 'How to Unionize' website. Since then, many people have participated from all over the country, including bookstore employees, union officials and journalists.
The Borders Union website is a resource for workers interested in learning more about unions, and for creating communication networks among workers, unions, journalists and other interested parties.
