Why are they yanking our chain?

Our store is super tiny. We got "new" shelves last fall, but they're smaller and worse than the new ones. We've had the same, brown, falling apart, stained carpet for over 20 years, and I'm sure that most everything in the store is the same as it was in 1986, if not before.

We were supposed to get a remodel last fall. We were supposed to get a remodel this summer. But, due to "financial" issues, Borders is not remodeling us. Why are they remodeling other Borders stores when our WB looks like crap and is falling apart? Is there anything we can do to get corporate's attention?

I'm guessing you have gotten corporate's attention and that you aren't getting remodeled because your tiny store is going to be closed when the current lease runs out.

Unless your store is really a huge moneymaker, then I can't guess what is going on.

We get decent traffic because there's no huge competitors around (just Hastings, but they suck). We have a large customer base, too...I talked to a distance manager and he said that we may actually take over the huge Hastings building when their lease is up. Would that mean that they're waiting for that, maybe? I have no idea, I just wish we could get carpet that's younger than me!
