Technically they are company property and you don't really have the right to see them.

then how to you argue your case? if you don't know what they have? So They can say what they want and you don't know what they said. doesn't sound fair to me.

Were you from the New Orleans store?

Very valid point, which is why having a union to represent you and grieve anything put into your file is a good idea.

yes And i lost my house, my grandmother who raised me, and the job that i loved and the customers that i cared for. How many letters haved to be send and how many dollers have to be lost to see something is very wrong here.

i agree but La. is a right to work state. So the workers will always not get a fair shake. my uncle was a leader in the unions in Penn. for the steelworkers and did wonderful things for the workers. Woody Guthrie was for the unions. they do look out for the workers. right now we have no rights. Most of the workers at my store make so little they are scared of losing there jobs and the little money they make.

It has always been my understanding that regardless of the state in which you live/ work, a Borders employee always has a right to view his or her own file; I've never had a GM indicate otherwise. However, once you've been terminated I do not know the degree to which you have any claim to see your employee file unless you are able to have an attorney file a motion to make the file available as part of a legal proceeding.
