It seems like Borders has put the word out on me. All major corps our being told not to hire me I'm a trouble maker. Also some photos of me have been put out.
Man you get more ridiculous by the hour. I think Borders has more important things to do than to call "corporations" and tell them not to hire you. Frankly, after reading all the BS you've put out I would have fired you too. Give me a break!
If you spent half as much time looking for a job as you do bitching about Borders you would be a helluva lot better off. Stop the "poor me" stuff and plan your life.
Yeah, but it can feel like being blacklisted when you are terminated from a job, especially when it's a job at a company that is in the "Fortune 500". Even ordinary people tend to presume that there was a reason for being fired, even though there might not have been a very good one. It is very painful, and really awkward, to present one's own side of the matter with the knowledge that the former employer's side is likely to receive attention out of proportion to its true importance.
Maybe the idea is to try to offer more facts. Do they have pictures to circulate, and if so are they just circulating one or more pictures amongst their own management? What is the HR practice about information regarding workers whose employment was terminated? I had been told informally several years ago that there was a fee for such information, and never asked whether what was released even included rehire eligibility anymore.
I have to leave, but I could repeat my earlier advice about the "LiveJournal" site. It appears from recent posts there that at least some news media (i.e. "New York" magazine) read it. (I doubt they read our site here, for the reason I gave earlier: our efforts at unionising were decertified or marginalised). Again, you'd need to be really careful about your diction before you posted there. However it might receive more attention. No one will really care whether you are a current worker, persons who say they are former workers or just getting ready to leave have had threads there already.
when pictures start showing up in places I go to, showing me at party held by Borders it makes me wonder. Vet if you want I'll send you the picture and you can decide. This is New Orleans and many things happen here. When I do get another job I will release all the documents. Give me your addy and you can get the first package. I spend 10 hours a day looking for jobs and it funny that my applaction gets pulled when they talk to Borders in metairie. you are right it sound weird. put it was weird what they said on my termination papers too.
