Perhaps this isn't the correct place to post a message but I'll give it a shot.
I'm 18, almost 19, in college looking for a part time job. I'm under the impression that working in a bookstore would have better customers and a better environment than other retail jobs. My local store appears to have nice and friendly staff, there's not any obvious signs of "I hate working here" I've read other comments from people, and I guess every job has it's things to complain about.
Previously, I've worked 3 years at McDonalds, and I think if I could survive that, Borders should be 10x better. I'm trying to find a good place and company to work for, should I put in an application to Borders or is it universally "oh no stay far away!!!"...
Thanks for your time
As long as you are not looking for a career or enough money to live on, go for it. It is harder work than it looks, but Borders people are the best. I love working with literate, interesting people. Borders has some of the most interesting people wearing those lanyard nametags!
