New Mudhoney

Back on Sub Pop with what I think is their best LP since 91's 'Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge'. 'Since We've Become Translucent' is their new one and it is a great bit of fuzzy garage. The horns are new and blend successfully. You can also feel a significant sonic youth influence. Their politics really stand out on this one as well. A fine aged single malt bourbon that makes some new stuff taste like the derivative shit it is.

For my taste the best CD to come out in the past few months is the Dropkick Murphy's Live Cd. Actually I do like the Ani DiFranco live cd better but I'm an Ani fanatic so it doesn't quite count. The Murphy's blend some good celtic sounds with the some nice driving punk. And best yet, there are union songs. Which Side Are You On? is one of the best (or maybe BEST!) union songs to come out in a long time.

Dropkick Murphys rock!!!

I'm all over the new Sinead lately. Just very well done traditional Irish ballads.

And also Great Big Sea - Canadian Celtic! Road Rage is amazing!
